With more than 15 years of professional experience, I have had the privilege and opportunity to support many individuals and families adjust to, and/or overcome life’s challenges.
I began my career in community mental health where I worked with individuals living with serious mental health challenges. My role focused on helping clients develop strategies to manage the impact of their illness, set and achieve goals and deal with everyday life. From there, I moved into a leadership role at a university health centre where I managed a team of administrators, health care professionals and clinical social workers in the provision of client-centered, primary health and mental health care. In this role, I provided consultation and clinical supervision to practicing clinicians, supported the effective operation of a busy health centre and carried a caseload of psychotherapy clients.
I approach all facets of my work with openness, patience, and a non-judgmental perspective. This, combined with my attention to best practices and current trends in psychotherapy and health care literature, has allowed me to support clients to feel safe, understood and identify and achieve their goals.
