Approach

I approach my counselling work with a focus on developing a trusting and supportive relationship allowing me to understand you, your needs, your goals and the best way for us to work together to help you achieve them. Whether it’s adjusting to a life change or managing an illness (physical and/or mental health related) my goal is to provide support, encouragement, and understanding in the context of a strong, supportive relationship where you will feel heard and understood.


AREAS of Expertise

I have training and expertise in the provision of psychotherapy for individuals experiencing a range of challenge including but not limited to:

  • women’s issues and women’s mental health

  • trauma and PTSD;

  • performance, confidence, self-esteem and motivation

  • anxiety, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, stress and burnout

  • depression, low mood, bipolar disorder;

  • disability issues;

  • adjustment challenges (new baby, health diagnosis, sexuality or employment related etc.);

  • relationship issues;

  • end-of-life, grief and bereavement.


Setting

In person Therapy: Clinical services are provided in comfortable, bright and private space located in beautiful Port Credit, Mississauga. Free parking is available outside the building at the Port Credit Library.

Virtual therapy is offered through a secure video platform called VirtualCare by Think Research


Clinical Supervision

Registered Social Workers practicing in Ontario seeking clinical supervision are welcome to contact me to discuss this service.


Fees and Insurance

Fees: $180 per 50-minute session, fees are prorated for longer/shorter sessions. Note, clinical social work services are HST exempt and fees are subject to customary increases.

Payment: cash, cheque or electronic bank transfer are accepted. Electronic receipts will be provided at the time of payment for extended health benefit expense reimbursement and income tax purposes.

Insurance reimbursement: most extended health benefit plans cover services provided by Registered Social Workers (RSW). Check with your insurance provider directly.

Social workers are authorized medical practitioners for the purpose of the Medical Expense Tax Credit (METC). Expenses incurred from clinical services provided by social workers may be claimed on your income tax.

Cancellation policy: at least 24 hours’ notice is required to avoid charges for a missed session.
